I took a decision

Quote from my diary two years ago,

I took a decision

Fourty one years to this day, then President Gamal Abdul Nasser appeared on the Egyptian National television to announce to his people that he and his men where not up to their job, and that he wants to step down as president and go back to work from inbetween the crowds.
This was such a fabricated speech written by his intimate friend Mohamed Hassanein Heikal, and a selfish scheme, that he wanted to deflect attention from his horrifying defeat on the national, regional and international arenas, and deflect his peoples attention tho the one thing he worships most, his own self. In one minute the whole humiliating, horrifying defeat was nothing compared to this man’s "decision" to leave the office he unrightfully held for eleven years, he never mentioned that he should have been sued and executed for the death of his men and officers, for the lies he kept spreading through his media about the hundreds of planes shot down while the men of this country were killed, tortured and left stranded in the desert with no sane command to go to, he never mentioned that he killed people and forjed their will he never mentioned that he had thousands prepared in his youth organisation to march down the streets of Cairo for the following two days so that he could complete the sharade and step up again…. Hundreds of thousand of Egyptians swormed the streets of the whole country demanding his return, the act worked and he would only sacrifice his life long friend Field Marshal AbdulHakim Amer who was in charge of the Egyptian armed forces together with General Shams Badran the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff.

The reopening of the Suez Canal 33 years on

Quote from my diary, one year ago

The reopening of the Suez Canal (33)

On June 5, 1975, amid the echoes of a 21-gun salute, a seven-ship flotilla eased through ceremonial gates in mid-Canal waters off Port Said and steamed south through the Sues Canal to Ismailia in a five-hour voyage marking the official reopening of the Canal exactly eight years after its closure during the 1967 Arab-Israeli war

Today, June fifth marks the 32nd anniversary of the reopening of the Suez Canal. Opened by President Sadat on that day specifically to turn it from a day of mourning to a day of rejoyce and celebration, yes we fought, yes we won and, we have our canal back and by God yes we’re filled with hope that one other June fifth will bring us our Jerusalem back again too.

Dressed as Admiral of the Egyptian Navy ,

The Day Jerusalem Fell 41 years on

Quote from my diary, two years ago.

The Day Jerusalem Fell (41)

Left: Israili soldier cools off in the Suez Canal, Note the AK-47 rifle. Israeli soldiers often traded their unreliable Carbines and short-range Uzies for AK-47s taken from captured or killed Arab soldiers.

Right: IDF soldiers at  Jerusalem’s Western Wall shortly after its capture.

Today the fifth of June commemorates the 40th anniversary of the six day war, the so called (preemptive war) launched by Isreal against Egypt, Syria and Jordan… It is a sad sad memory for me, for the events of this war still shape the lives of people today, the whole complicated Arab Israili conflict has no solution today because of the unfortunate events that started on the morning of June 5th 1967. May God never forgive those who were responsible for our defeat and humiliation that day, may God have mercy on the souls of the souls of the 21,0000 Egyptians that were killed that day, and may God give us the faith and strength to regain what we have lost that day.

On this day Israel launched it’s war against the three arab countries capturing more than it could have ever imagined, Sinai, Golan, Gaza and the west bank including East Jerusalem.

This was the day Jerusalem fell, and it hasn’t yet returned; darkness shrowds the holy city, awaiting one day when right becomes right again.

I didn’t witness that day, but I have been around many who have, the defeat and loss they woke up to this day fourty years ago still haunts them till now. Let us remember our mistakes and learn from them, let us identify those who broke our spirit and gambled away our dreams, let us take pride in knowing that we rejected such defeat, and defied the overwhelming loss with faith and determination to fight back one fine day after.

(لاجلك يا مدينة الصلاة اصلي) For you, the city of prayers, I pray; for your peace and your freedom, for you O’ Kingdom of Heaven, you are the beauty and you are the hope, peace remains elusive today but we know it will come, and we shall live it and thank God for all his blessings in this blessed land, one day we shall go to Jerusalem.
